Conference:  Legal Reforms and Commercial Justice in Kosovo – Empowering Women and Minority Businesses

Prishtina – 18 September 2024 – President of the Commercial Court, Mr. Mahir Tutuli was participant in the conference organized by the USAID Programme for Commercial Justice and Inclusive Economic Developement Programme, with the topic “Legal Reforms and Commercial Justice in Kosovo – Empowering Women and Minority Businesses.”

President Tutuli was part of the Panel in which was discussed the role and benefits that Commercial Court and Commercial Mediation have provided to the businesses, with an emphasis on women and minorities.

During the present conference was discussed how legal amendments in the justice system in general, and commercial justice in particular, affect businesses of women and minorities.  Outright, has been emphasized that a higher judicial security for the business community in Kosovo remains a precondition for the sustainable and comprehensive development of the private sector.

Further, in the conference was mentioned how the Commercial Court has played a key role in improving access to justice for all businesses by providing a specialized platform on the resolvement of disputes.

Part of the Panel were also members of the Board of the Chamber of Mediators, lawyers and the  Executive Director of STIKK, who during the discussion have mentioned main achievements of the Commercial Court, as well challenges that have encountered since the beginning until today.
