Report of the Commercial Court for the first half of 2024 year is being published

Prishtina, 14 August 2024 – Commercial Court of Kosovo has published the work report for the first half of 2024, presenting important data on its performance in resolving the cases.

Based on the reported statistical data, the Second Instance Chamber of the Commercial Court has inherited 780 cases from the previous year, received 1,227 new cases and resolved 1,268 cases during the period January – June 2024, and 739 are pending cases. With a clearance rate of 103.34% the Second Instance Chamber has shown a high efficiency in resolving cases.

The First Instance Chamber of the present Court for the period January – June 2024 has inherited  8.459 cases from the previous year, received 2.884 new cases, and during the mentioned period has resolved 2.928 cases, whereas have remained pending 8.415 cases.  A clearance rate of 101.53% has presented a high efficiency in resolving cases for this period, as well in the First Instance Chamber.

In general, for the period January – June 2024, the Commercial Court has recorded a clearance rate of 102.07% of the cases, by demonstrating a stable performance in handling and resolving Court cases.

During this period, Court has began to implement Case Management Information System (CMIS) by registering all Court cases in this up-to-date system, which is expected to significantly improve  efficiency and transparency of its work.

As well, during the period in question, Kosovo Judicial Council has approved the Strategy of Commercial Court for 2024-2025.   This Strategy marks the first step towards strategic planning of the Court, with an aim to increase the quality of decisions, access and credibility to the public, also professionalism and cooperation with other institutions.

In the framework of transparency and accountability, the Court has published 3,391 Court Rulings on the judicial web portal which are easily accessible to the public.

Likewise over 5,000  businesses certificates have been issued, out of which 250 were issued through online application, thus facilitating access and services for citizens’ and businesses.’

Furthermore, the Mediation Office of the Commercial Court has referred 63 cases to the alternative dispute resolving procedure, providing effective alternatives on dispute resolving outside the Court.
